Your child builds a drone, then learns to fly it
A summer program for kids ages 10 and up. The parts of the kit plug together, and an online program explains what each one does as your child goes.

How the drone program works
Three stages, in this order. Your child does the building and the flying themselves.
Build
Your child puts the drone together from the kit. The parts plug together.
Learn
The online program explains what each part does as your child reaches it, so the building makes sense.
Fly
Once it is built, your child learns to fly it, with an adult nearby.
Why a drone stays in the air
Three ideas your child will see for themselves while building and flying.
Two spin each way
Each spinning propeller tries to twist the drone. With two going each way, the twists cancel and the drone keeps pointing straight.
Tilting to move
To fly forward, the back motors spin a little faster than the front ones. The nose dips and the drone travels that way.
Constant corrections
A drone does not balance on its own. The flight controller reads its sensors and adjusts the motors many times every second to hold it steady.
Our programs
Drone building comes first. More programs are planned, and the interest list is how you will hear about them.

Summer 2027
Drone kit program
Build a plug-in drone, learn what each part does, then learn to fly it. Ages 10 and up.
-
Planned
Robotics with AI
A small robot that senses what is around it and makes simple decisions, with an introduction to how AI is used.
-
Planned
Parent and child workshops
A parent and child build one project together in a single session.
How a robot decides what to do
This is the idea behind the planned robotics program. A robot repeats the same loop over and over.
Sense
Sensors tell the robot things like how far away a wall is, how bright the room is, or where a line on the floor runs.
Decide
A program turns those readings into a choice, such as turn left or stop. AI is one way to make that choice, by learning from examples instead of only following fixed rules.
Act
The motors move the robot, and the sensors show what changed. Then the loop starts again.
Safety
Flying a drone comes with rules, and an adult should be nearby. Drones are regulated in Canada by Transport Canada, and there are places where you cannot fly one. We will share the safety details before you register.

Questions parents ask
Is joining the list a registration?
No. It only tells us you want to hear more. Registration opens in March 2027, and nothing on this page takes payment.
Does my child need experience with drones or electronics?
We will confirm what is needed before registration opens. The kit parts plug together, which keeps the building step simple.
Where and when will it run?
The drone program is planned for July and August 2027. We will confirm the location and schedule when registration opens.
Can drones be flown anywhere?
No. There are places where you cannot fly one. We will explain the rules that apply as part of the safety information.
What will it cost?
That is not decided yet. People on the interest list will hear first.
Join the interest list
It takes a minute. This is not a registration.
- You join the list. There is nothing to pay.
- We email you when the details are ready.
